Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

One among the great Warrior is Chatrapati Shivaji who was born on 19 february 1630 at shivneri of Maharastra.Shivaji father Shahaji and His mother was Jijabai whom he was extremely devoted and she used to tell stories about Ramayana and Mahabharat which made shivaji to be devoted towards religious.Sai Bhosale was the first wife of Shivaji Maharaj.Shivaji was Born leader and he had a conflict with Bijapur sultan and his popularity and victory made Aurangzeb to be worried and he directed shahista khan to fight against him this made shivaji to reduce his hold of fort over konkan region.Shivaji was supported Marathi and Sanskrit in his ruling.He also renamed many fort name in Sanskrit.Although shivaji was Hindu Devout he encouraged all religion and He was for the liberty of the woman and his administration policies were people friendly and he was strict against caste discrimination.He also introduced Ryotwari system for the benefit of the farmers and two system in tax collection were introduced by him that are Chauth and Sardeshmukhi.He fought Battle of Kolhapur,Battle of Chakan,Battle of Pavan khind,Battle of purandar,Nesari,Battle of Salher.During his ruling Faizal Khan,Afzal Khan,Adil shahi were killed by Chatrapati.Sambhaji was his successor who was elder son of Shivaji.Shivaji died on 3 April 1680 due to bout of dysentery.
